Introduction to Psychology
The study of human behavior is considered one of the most interesting
and stimulating courses any student can learn about. Nothing else has
such an immediate personal relevance as the phenomenon of human
behavior. Psychology as the study of human behavior holds tremendous
opportunities for a student to learn about social interaction, emotional
needs, and environmental influences on behavior.
The, major rationale for writing this book was to introduce basic
psychological theories and principles to the Filipino college student. It
was also written with the expectation that Filipino students will be made
to recognize the relevance of psychology to their everyday lives. In
preparing the first two editions of this book, the authors were faced with
the problem, of adequately covering the subject matter while keeping the
length appropriate for a limited period of time. In this Third Edition, the
topics covered in the previous editions have likewise been included.
However, the order with which the different topics have been presented
is distinctly different. Nonetheless, the Third Edition included
contemporary research studies in light of the psychological principles
and theories presented in the book.
